Staying Connected During the Busy Holiday Season

Reminiscing over all the years, my fondest memories during the holidays were not about the gifts, but instead about the moments and times that I spent with my loved ones.

Baking cookies, snuggling up and watching those holiday classic movies, singing favorite carols around the fireplace, traveling to visit our grandkids, or driving around to see all the neighborhood and city lights – these special times we spend together as a family making precious memories bring me so much joy. 

This year, we’re making a plan to stay connected even more with our family and friends, no matter what we are doing or where we are going. Here are a few simple ways to stay connected during the holiday season. 

Pick a date to celebrate all together

Celebrating the holidays with your family and friends doesn’t have to be on one specific day. You can easily pick another time or weekend to have everyone get together and celebrate. Or if you have a large family like mine, visiting everyone in one day is no easy task. This year we decided to take a trip with our family, so we plan to visit grandkids, parents, and grandparents a few days after Christmas. 

Plan a group activity

Did you know that the holiday season offers so many great ways to have fun? Families can create a magical evening where they plan out a fun route to see Santa, watch their city’s holiday parade, visit an amusement park, or drive around to look at all the neighborhood lights. The best way to stay in touch and have everyone stick together is to download the Life360 app on their phones.

Not only can you easily communicate to meet up but you can also see the progress of when everyone is going to be arriving as well. Being able to track the whereabouts of everyone’s arrival and departure is certain to help make the whole outing go much more smoothly. Plus, it helps me plan a bit as well so we leave our house on time!

If you can’t find a way to be together during the holidays, it doesn’t mean that you have to give up hope. Simply picking up your phone and having a video chat with the ones that you love is a great way to still feel like you’re there, together.
