Why we launched free Data Breach Alerts
Hope you’re all prepped for back to school season! I’m writing this to let you know about a free new feature that’s near and dear to my heart. First, a little background.
When we founded Life360 in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, our mission was to give families a way to protect their loved ones and offer support when they needed it most. It’s still our driving force today — and we’re always looking for ways to offer peace of mind for the modern moment.
These days, the threat isn’t always visible. Hackers have become a real part of everyday life, and when we surveyed our own Life360 members, we found 1 in 3 families have experienced identity fraud. And this stat stopped me in my tracks: Over 1 million kids have their identities stolen each year. It often goes undetected until they apply for their first credit card or apartment.
That’s why we’re excited to introduce free Data Breach Alerts for all Life360 members — to help you take back control and prevent theft from happening in the first place. We’ll let you know if any of your accounts or your family members’ accounts have been compromised the moment we detect a breach. We’ll also send you next steps so you can act fast to secure your info. Take that, hackers.
The best part? It’s free, no strings attached! Your family’s alerts will be right inside your Life360 app. And, if your info ever gets into the wrong hands, our Gold and Platinum plans offer identity theft protection, including up to $1 million stolen funds coverage and white-glove restoration support. With the new school year just around the corner, you have enough to think about — so check digital safety off your list.
Thanks, as always, for being part of the Life360 community.
Stay safe out there!
